Aberlour 11 Years Old Distillery Exclusive 2022

Since 1879, the Aberlour distillery has been making subtle and elegant whiskies in its namesake Speyside village. The whisky’s character is shaped by two fundamental ingredients: pure spring water from the nearby Ben Rinnes, and locally sourced barley grown within 15 miles of the distillery. Initially made available exclusively at the distillery, the limited-edition Aberlour 11 Years Old Distillery Exclusive 2022 is a rich and powerful dram characterised by sherried notes of dried fruits, spices and liquorice. The whisky matured exclusively in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, and was bottled in March 20222 at 49.4%. The nose reveals aromas of dark cherries, caramelised figs, spiced apples, hazelnut praline, blueberry jam, ginger and clove. On the palate, flavours of poached pears, orange marmalade, sweet plums and dark chocolate with ginger and nutmeg conclude in a long, rich and slightly dry finish.
