By Megan Hall This complex and detailed reduction linocut print captures Megan’s enduring fascination with water – its movement, depth, and the fleeting dance of light across its surface. The ever-changing rhythms of the natural world shape her creative process, offering both inspiration and challenge. “Lambent” means (of light or fire) glowing, gleaming, or flickering with a soft radiance and this image evokes sunlight on the surface of the sea. The reduction linocut process is a printing technique where multiple colours are printed from a single block, which is progressively carved away and destroyed with each layer. This means the whole edition is printed at one time and the blocks cannot be revisited or reused. Starting with the lightest colour, the artist prints the first layer, then carves away areas to be preserved, prints a darker colour on top, and repeats until the design is complete. This design has seven layers of print. Limited edition of 11. White wood frame and under glass. Mounted on card to show the deckled paper edge. Framed size: W 46cm x H 46cm Print size: W 30cm x H 30cm Also available unframed.
