By Sarah Cooling Elegant wheel thrown porcelain bottle decorated with a black geometric “sgraffito” pattern and orange highlights at the base. Finished with a glossy crackle glaze. Sgraffito is technique where two successive layers of contrasting slip or glaze are applied to an unfired ceramic body and then scratched to reveal parts of the underlying layer. Sarah is inspired to create glazes or surfaces where layers build curiosity and interest so at some point the qualities of the original porcelain or clay body will be apparent. This theme manifests in various ways from glassy crackle glazes to scratching through layers of slip and glaze. Size: H 16cm x W 7.5cm Care: Handwash only.
